Assisted Reproductive Technology or popularly known as IVF technology is an application of technology in the field of human reproduction. IVF in medical terms is called\u00a0In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)<\/em>. In Vitro comes from Latin which means inside while Fertilization is English which means fertilization. So IVF is an effort to obtain pregnancy by bringing together sperm cells and egg cells so that fertilization occurs in a special container or petri dish (a kind of small glass bowl) which is done by medical personnel. Maybe because the fertilization process occurs in a glass dish (as if like a tube), finally the public knows it as the definition of IVF. IVF is a reproductive technology in the form of a technique for fertilizing egg cells (ovum) outside the woman's body.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Initially, this program aimed to help couples who could not have children naturally because the wife's fallopian tubes were permanently damaged. However, later there was a development where this program was applied to those who had diseases or other abnormalities that made it impossible to have children.<\/p>\n

In Indonesia, the history of the first test tube baby was carried out at RSAB Harapan Kita, Jakarta, in 1987. The test tube baby program finally gave birth to the first test tube baby in Indonesia, namely Nugroho Karyanto in 1988. Only after that did many test tube baby births begin to appear in Indonesia.
